Challenge
MSK partnered with Goldstone Architects in the design, permitting, and construction administration of a multi-family housing development (nine duplexes) on an undeveloped lot in Bennington, VT.
Solution
The scope of this project included various feasibility studies, including wetlands delineation, site analysis via survey, and a preliminary layout and zoning review. We reviewed permitting requirements for the project and worked with the architect to develop an initial conceptual site layout, delivering preliminary and conceptual design phase documents. Our survey team conducted boundary survey and deed research of the subject parcel and surrounding parcels in the Bennington, VT land records, as well as a field survey of the site to determine the location of the property boundary.
We also prepared a preliminary drainage and grading plan, a water and sewer layout, site layout, and details sheets. Our team prepared final drawings and specifications indicating the scope, extent, and character of the construction work to be performed for the appointed contractor, and supported the creation of construction contract documents, bidding-related documents, and all final design phase deliverables.
Throughout this project, MSK prepared and submitted all required local and State permit applications as well as supporting the client through the Act 250 Land Use process.
Results
Water and sewer lines are completed and ready to service buildings that are actively being constructed.
