Challenge
In 2014, the Village of North Bennington identified that an aging pump station serving 14 units needed to be replaced.
Solution
When funding became available in 2018, we undertook a site survey, obtained a Wastewater System and Potable Water Supply permit, oversaw the bidding process, and provided construction administration services. We redesigned the top of the existing pump station, the pump assembly, and the force main to the gravity sewer. We also designed for the removal of a redundant manhole in the State of Vermont's right-of-way and upgraded existing access to the system by rerouting a connection between a 2-unit, 3-bedroom duplex and the wastewater main.
Results
The project was completed in August 2019, with a design flow of 4,220 gallons/day.
